Sky High Manners

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]Heading for the friendly skies? Make sure they stay that way.

Most people are a little stressed when they fly. Maybe they’re afraid, running late or juggling two kids and ten bags. Whatever the reason squeezing hundreds of people into a giant tube thousands of feet in the air can be tough, so why not do what you can to make the experience a good one.

According to the co-president of the Emily Post Institute, the rule book of all things manners, there are ways to make sure the flight goes smoothly. She says the most typical etiquette errors involve issues of hygiene, speaking to people who would rather be left alone and a general disregard for others.

Examples of that are taking off your shoes, resting feet on chairs or reclining your seat too far back. Another mistake is trying to board before your section is called. Wait your turn; you will get on the plane and into your seat.
