‘Tis the season for the annual holiday party, so make it a night to remember.

Not everyone is a fan of dressing up and socializing. Some folks would rather spend a night on the couch, than in a room of strangers trying to make small talk. But no matter what group you fall into holiday parties can be the best chance for networking. And not having social skills could work in your favor.

According to Forbes, people who consider themselves introverts form deeper relationships than those who can easily work a room. So what are traits that can make a little silence work in your favor?

One example: focus on the strengths of others. People who build a smaller network have a stronger connection with those people. They ask better questions and pay attention to the answer. This helps them pinpoint strengths in people that might work in their favor. Start by asking what someone does and how they do it.
