Pumpkin Spice Latte

by | Sep 3, 2018

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]The pumpkin spice latte is back, and this year it tastes a little desperate.

Earlier this past week Starbucks officially welcomed the pumpkin spice latte back to its menus. Known as the unofficial drink of the Fall season this is the earliest it has ever been available to customers. And that’s because the company might need the fix more than you do.

This year Starbucks is dealing with some issues that might put a dent in its hope for a strong year. First, customers are turning away from sugary drinks, especially the various types of frappuccinos.

Over the past year sales have dropped about 3% and now starbucks is pushing other cold drinks to offset the drop. And overall Starbucks is seeing more customers buy a cold drink over a hot one.

And for a major coffee company that could be a problem. So even though the pumpkin spice latte is meant for Fall, starbucks is also pushing an iced version of the classic.

More seasonal drinks are right around in the corner as Starbucks hopes for a very green Christmas.
