It’s been months since the country’s biggest athletes hung up their cleats, basketball shoes and ice skates, but now they’re preparing for a comeback.
As states slowly start to reopen as the new normal, the world of professional sports is doing the same. Over the past few weeks, the NBA, NFL and Major League Soccer have announced plans to bring games back to fans, or at least to their TV screens.
Now Canada is announcing it’s comfortable with the National Hockey League using one of its cities as a hub. That is, if health officials give the okay. The league is expected to use two cities in our neighbor to the north as it prepares to stage games.
While travel between the U.S. and Canada is closed until July 21st, teams have been making the trek the past few weeks. Las Vegas, that lost the NFL draft when it went virtual, is celebrating scoring the pro bowl. The game will be played on January 31st at the new home of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Who doesn’t love a great sports comeback?
