1 in 5 Professionals Have Made This Mistake… And Lost A Job

by | Jul 8, 2019

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]There is one common mistake that could cost you your job and we are all at risk of making it.

In today’s world almost no one picks up a phone and uses it to actually call someone. Instead we text or email to describe our every thought and feeling. But here’s the problem. If you dial a wrong number, you apologize and hang up. If you send the wrong person a message or email there’s no coming back.

According to Ladders.com, one in five people say sending the wrong person an email cost them a promotion or job. In those cases the emails and texts they had sent the person, were meant for someone else. And they didn’t paint a good picture of the person that had accidentally received it.

Forty four percent of one thousand people surveyed said that happened to them over text message, forty one percent said it was email. And while you might try to lie your way out of it the proof is right there for them to read.

Might be time to slow down those thumbs.
