Pizza Drone ServiceWhile a handful of companies are testing the use of drones to expand business; one company is serving up the best idea yet. Domino’s has started testing out drone based pizza deliveries in New Zealand. The well-known pizza company has partnered with the drone delivery startup Flirtey to bring the plan to life. So far New Zealand is the only country that can move forward with the trial run because the country’s current regulations allow it for both the drone and Domino’s. So far the tests have been successful and the companies are moving forward. Once a customer requests a drone pizza delivery they receive a note that their meal is approaching. Then they go outside, hit a button on their smartphone and the pizza is lowered by tether. Right now the service is operating out of one Auckland store but the general manager for the company says he is looking to expand. He says Auckland is a logical place to stand because with all the traffic on the road people are waiting to long for dinner. So why not turn to the skies?
