We are just days away from finding out what the “P” in IHOP will now mean. For years it’s been pancakes but now the chain is saying the “P” will stand for something else.
Fans are speculating what that could be with suggestions ranging from pizza to puppies. And this isn’t the first time IHOP has used its name to drum up business. Last June it changed its names to IHOB saying the “B” stood for burgers, a menu item it was trying to get customers to buy into.
Not long after, IHOB went back to IHOP, but not before a lot of backlash on social media. But, turns out the company didn’t mind.
The president says there was a huge response with more than twenty thousand articles written about the name change. He says they expected the negative feedback but didn’t think so many people would be interested.
Since then, the company hinted that it would be pulling a similar stunt and it looks like they are about to keep that promise.
