3 Reasons Why You Should NEVER Work Late

by | Feb 25, 2019

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]Working late? Don’t make it a habit.

Every now and then you might put in a few extra hours to finish a project, or because it’s been “one of those days.” But making this a regular thing might actually hurt you at the office more than it helps you.

According to MSN Money constantly burning the midnight oil doesn’t impress your co-workers because you’re making them look bad if they don’t stay late as well. In many cases your effort is lost on the boss, with studies that show people who clock the most hours aren’t earning the most promotions.

In addition to creating a bad rap around the office, late nights are bad for your mental and physical health. Experts say the longer you work, the shorter and unhappier your life.

And you’re not as productive as you think. By days end you’re tired. In fact you’re most effective when you work a few hours a day.

For this reason most companies stress a healthy work life balance, because you can only burn that candle at both ends for so long.
