Money and Happiness

by | Aug 10, 2018

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]They say money can’t buy happiness; but your zip code might have something to do with it.

Recently the job resource site Inc.com took a look at the list of the happiest and most miserable states in the country. Imagine their surprise to find that coming in at the top spot as the state with the most joy is Minnesota. Yes, the same state that also boasts some of the coldest winters on record.

Coming in second was South Dakota followed by Colorado, with Utah and North Dakota rounding out the top five. So with the apparent lack of sunshine and beaches in your happy place, the site compared the list of happiest states to a list of the wealthiest ones.

Here are some of the findings: Maryland came in as the state pulling in the most money, but it landed at #34 of the happiest. Alaska is the second richest state but the 19th happiest and New Jersey is third richest but the 26th happiest.

Guess that old cliché, money doesn’t buy happiness, has some merit.
