Want to land that job, you should mind your manners. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

So, you’ve submitted your resume, landed the interview and it’s time for the follow-up. In most cases this comes in the form of a thank-you email. Or if you’re really good a personalized note. Either way, according to ladders dot com there is specific language you should use to tell the company thanks or no thanks. For example, say you had a great conversation with the recruiter or hiring manager but have decided the job is not right for you. This is when you should send a thank you email to end the process but remain friendly with the company. So, thank them for their time to discuss the specific job title at their company. Tell them the role is not right for you but that you would like to stay in touch. Then give them your Linkedin account and ask them to connect with you for future opportunities. To see the email language to land a six-figure offer go to banmilleronbusiness.com . Don’t forget to check your spelling. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
