Good working relationships can make the days pass faster, but meaningful ones can pay off. I’m Brian Banmiller on business.

According to m-s-n money strong connections at work can advance your career and help tackle roadblocks that come your way. So how do you form them? First, put in some effort with everyone. It doesn’t have to be the same amount of effort but the ones you work with everyday should get some of your attention. When you come across someone new or you are not familiar with, introduce yourself, who knows how they will come into you life down the line. And when you are talking to someone give your full attention. Put down your phone, stop looking at your screen and engage in the conversation. Being present with them in the moment will make them feel important. Do what you can to make their job easier by taking on smaller taks and doing them well.
