Some restaurants are starting to reopen… and looking a lot different.

In the Netherlands, one McDonald’s restaurant is trying ways to bring back business while keeping people safe. And before this can be rolled out to more locations it must be tested. So, visitors to this McDonald’s can expect big, yellow circles used to mark where people stand. These circles are spread out about six feet apart and are meant to make sure customers keep their social distance.

Before people enter the restaurant, there is a handwashing station and you must wash your hands for a full twenty seconds before entering. Next you’re greeted by a host behind a plastic screen, wearing gloves, that gives you a plastic sign with a number. Then you move to a touchscreen where you place your order and then leave to find a table.

As soon as you’re done at the touchscreen an employee will disinfect it. Your food comes on a trolley and you take it, allowing for a contact-free experience. As soon as you leave, your entire area is disinfected and the process starts again.
