Isolating In Style

The world is social distancing… so maybe do it in style?

Closed businesses and orders to stay inside have changed things for restaurants worldwide. But instead of closing their doors some chefs in Scotland are trying a different type of menu. It’s called “self-isolating in style” and features the same high-end items you would find in a restaurant.

One chef says he came up with the idea when his business was close to being wiped out. Reservations were being canceled and they had to shut down in-house dining. That’s when he decided that he could make the same type of food, it would just have to go in a foil container and not on a china plate.

Now customers are calling in their orders for roast salmon with lobster sauce and bottles of wine to go with it. Unlike fast food these orders need to be made a day in advance and the service is for people who want to stock up with a few meals at a time.

And besides delivering good food… it’s a great way to keep suppliers in business.
