Looking for a new job? Find out who you will be reporting to before saying yes.

The job interview might have gone well but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to be smooth sailing between you and your new boss. So how can you figure out the type of person who will be responsible for your happiness and bottom line?

According to Ladders.com, there are five indicators to look for during your interview and before you accept the position. For example, ask about the team dynamic. When you talk to the person who will be your new boss, ask them about the company culture. You can even ask them how they fit into and shape the dynamic.

If for some reason you don’t talk to your boss during the process, then ask the interviewer the same questions. And pay attention to how they communicate via email their tone and phrasing can determine if they are direct or open to chatting.
