Want to enjoy your golden years? Make some simple investments.

According to theladders.com, there are four simple things you can do now to prepare for a better future.

For example, self-investing is the foundation of long-term wealth. Be patient, put money aside and consider an investment account that makes saving easy. Another way to invest in yourself is to learn different skills that make you indispensable at work.

Or, crack open a book. Experts say reading is pretty much guaranteed to make you smarter over time. It keeps your brain active by growing, changing and making new connections. Try reading for about 20 minutes before work or at the end of your day. The habit will also keep you focused while working.

Speaking of habits, make time for yours. Everyone has a side hustle they like to spend time doing. It might not make you money, but it will make you happy.

And finally, get exercise. Taking care of your body can reshape the aging process. It’s not much fun of a future if you can’t get up and enjoy it.
