There can be hundreds of people applying for the same position. Getting your resume to the top of the pile so you get a call to come in can be hard enough, but can you ace the interview? To help out the job resource site Ladders.com talked to hr professionals about what candidates have done to earn an offer letter.
In one case the candidate did the work before the first interview. The HR manager was looking for someone to do PR and when asked why he should be hired, he opened his laptop and showed five high-quality press releases he had made complete with links to the website. This showed his actions backed up his words and he was hired on the spot.
Another person asked why she should join their company as opposed to any other company that made her an offer.
