The consumer electronics show has named its best product launch for 2019, and there’s nothing technical about it.
Amidst all the latest advancements for your TV, home and car at this year’s CES was a plant-based burger called The Impossible Burger. Its presence at the show marks the first time a food product was given an exhibit at the show and it left people hungry for more.
The impossible burger first debuted on the market in 2016 but was given a recipe upgrade and showcased as version 2.0. The new version contains no gluten, animal hormones, or antibiotics and is kosher.
Despite all that, the new version has just as much iron and protein as ground beef. The burger won a handful of awards including unexpected product, best of the best and most impactful product.
Editors say by shrinking the gap between real and fake meat, impossible is making it easier for people to make good choices for them and for the environment.
And the best part… according to people who have tried it, it tastes just like beef.
