Millions of people need a little extra love, and in Argentina, some are turning to unusual sources. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.

During the pandemic we’ve been separated by those we love and forced to spend time with ourselves or a small group of people. Enter comfort animals. Creatures that come into our home, give us attention and in return need attention from us. But we’re not talking about dogs and kittens here. Instead people in Argentina are getting a little creative with their selections. One girl was given a pig for her birthday when she wasn’t going to be able to see any of her friends. That pig is now twenty pounds and greets her with a squeal of delight when she comes home. The pig often sleeps next to her and the girl says she wouldn’t be the same person without her pet. Another man is spending his day with sixty spiders. He says at first he began raising them to overcome his fear but now they serve a different purpose. Now they help him unplug after a day working at the hospital. To each their own. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
