Listen Now: Don’t Miss It: McDonald’s Happy Meal Nostalgia Promotion is Now Live!
The McDonald’s happy meal is 40 years old, and the company is celebrating with a little nostalgia.
In June of 1979, Mcdonald’s introduced the happy meal to the public. It was a full course meal complete with something to keep even the youngest appetites occupied, toys. So in honor of forty years of happy meals, McDonald’s is bringing back some of the most iconic toys from years past. And the company says it’s a legends only deal.
That includes the McNugget Buddies that first made an appearance in 1988. Then there’s the figures from one hundred and one dalmatians that first appeared in 1997, and yes there were one hundred and one toys to collect.
When beanie babies exploded on the market, McDonald’s joined the party with its own line of toys. And one of the more popular toys was the hamburger changeable. The toy that would transform from a hamburger into a robot, way before transformers hit the big screen.
There’s only a few days left in the celebration, and no doubt McDonalds is hoping it can help boost its challenged business.
