Listen Now: First Impressions
Need to build your customer base, first you need their attention. I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.
With all the content out there, a person’s attention span has become much shorter. Commercials on TV pick up your phone, websites slow to load, try another. Because of this, according to Entrepreneur.com companies have about eight seconds to grab your attention. So, when it comes to marketing techniques, you have to get creative. Most of your marketing is done via website, social media, emails and snail mail. All of which include words. So, make them catchy. Think of subject lines, titles, social media posts. You want to grab someone’s attention and be interesting enough to make them keep reading. So, tell a story, ditch the industry lingo and don’t overload them with information. Once you have the copy down, consider the designs. About 65% of the population are visual learners. Use brand colors, white space and eye-catching icons to catch their eye and their attention. For more tricks to hold the attention of your audience go to BanmillerOnBusiness.com. After all, first impressions are important, and fast. Brian Banmiller, CBS News.
