Looking for love? Make sure it’s not in the wrong place.

Tis’ the season for love, or at least a hot date you can bring to dinner and put a stop to those “when are you going to settle down” questions. But no matter what you’re looking for, many people are shopping online, so how do you know you’re getting your worth?

According to the online women’s magazine, Bustle, there are ways to spot a fake dating profile. For example, a profile with only one or two pictures is a red flag. Especially if one of those photos has a white background meaning it was likely taken from the internet.

If the wording and grammar on the profile seem a bit strange that could mean you’re dealing with a bot. Those profiles are created with the intention of scamming you into revealing private information.

And the ultimate warning sign is someone who refuses to meet you in person. The assumption to online dating is going on a date. Someone who won’t see you in person, is likely not who they say they are. Happy hunting.
