There are lots of people searching for a job, and these days, the hunt looks a little different.
In the past month more than twenty-two million people have filed for unemployment. Businesses are shutting down; people are being laid-off and companies have stopped hiring. And if you’re one of the unlucky ones, Forbes magazine has seven things you need to know.
For example, explore alternative possibilities. Don’t overlook the possibility of contract, temporary or gig roles. It might not be enough but it’s something for now, plus it will mean an income while you wait for your dream job. You should aim for sectors that are hiring, such as shipping, delivery services and tech support.
Another tip, even though times are tough don’t get desperate. Don’t take a job you don’t really want because it will just make you miserable. Instead address all of your red flags before accepting and don’t be afraid to negotiate.
