Company Secrets
Listen Now: Company Secrets
A company’s logo might be easy to recognize, but do you know what it means? I’m Brian Banmiller on Business.
Turns out there is a message behind some of the world’s most popular company logos. Many people, even the most loyal customers have no idea what they are. So, to let you in on the secret, creative bloq.com is pulling back the curtain. For example, people have always said the Tesla logo looks like the form of birth control known as an IUD. But CEO Elon musk says it actually represents the cross-section of the tesla engine. The star looking thing next to the word Walmart in its logo represents a spark. It’s meant to represent the spark of inspiration that led Sam Walton to open his first store. Each of the six lines of said spark stand for things important to the company: the customer, respect, integrity, associates, service and excellence. Look closely at a Twix bar and there is a pause symbol in the dot of the “i.” The company’s previous slogan was, “Twix, need a moment?” and that’s where the pause symbol comes in.
