Listen Now: Is College Critical? New Report Says No.
According to Forbes, Third Way, a Washington D.C. think tank, found that many college graduates earn less than the typical salary of a high school graduate. The study also found that last year, half of U.S. colleges had graduates earning less than twenty eight thousand dollars a year.
If the current college admission scandal involving dozens of parents is any indication, the pressure for a higher education is intense. Even if the child has no interest in pursuing a degree.
In addition, the price of college is hundreds of thousands of dollars. Parents need to start saving as soon as that pregnancy test is positive. Otherwise, people get massive debt with their degree.
According to Forbes, another trend is that many people began looking down upon those who didn’t go to college or who entered a trade school. But we couldn’t survive without electricians, construction workers, or plumbers.
So maybe consider an alternative to college or get used to your children crashing on your couch for years to come.
