Business Card Boost: A New, Better Networking Strategy

by | Oct 5, 2019

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]Everyone has a business card, but not everyone knows how to use it.

At every networking event people looking for jobs carry a pocket full of business cards, handing them out to anyone interested. Then those potential employers go home with a stack of cards, unable to put a face to a name. So how do you make sure you’re remembered?

According to the job resource site TheLadders.com, there are four steps to a successful meet and greet. First, make a list of people you want to connect with before the event. Then try to set up a meeting with them while you’re both in the same room, even just a few minutes of facetime will put you ahead of the pack.

Next, if all goes well and they ask for your contact information, get theirs instead. Don’t leave it up to them, this way you’re in control of any potential follow-up conversation.

To see the final steps to make sure you aren’t just another face in the crowd, check out the original article now. Time to put in a little effort.
