Listen Now: Bye, Bye Britain: Thousands RSVP For Brexit Goodbye Party
[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]Britain is preparing to brexit and people are sending them out in style.
More than seven thousand people have signed up for a beach party to mark Britain’s departure from The European Union. And that number is expected to grow with another fifty two thousand expressing interest in attending.
Set for October 31st, anyone planning to go will meet at a seaside village near Amsterdam. Created by someone who works in media the event is meant to bid goodbye to a good friend who is going on an exciting adventure but might not be that smart.
It will involve sitting in a deck chair with dutch chips, french wine and german beer as Britain closes itself off. If there is enough interest the creator of the event is talking about hiring a band to play.
Some of the suggested songs coming in include “We’ll Meet Again,” and “Britain Come Back” by a dutch band. The head of the event says the party seemed like the only thing to do to say goodbye to a country which has had such close ties to The Netherlands.
And it might be a hard goodbye.
