Bottoms Up

Craving a cocktail? This is one happy hour you might want to miss.

The Disgusting Food Museum in Sweden is adding something new to its menu–drinks. And, true to the museum which has displays of bull testicles and maggot-infested cheese, these drinks are pretty revolting.

The Director says he wanted to show the extreme measures people take to brew up something to make them a little tipsy. He says during prohibition, people were desperate to get drunk–and that led to a little creative mixing.

Most of the drinks on display are ones that are common in various parts of the world–and all will turn the stomach of anyone not familiar with it. For example, a beer from Peru made from fermented corn meal and spit. Or a gin from Uganda made from fermented bananas. And don’t forget the wine made from an overripe orange fermented in the tank of a prison toilet.

Iceland is also displaying one of its fan favorites–a beer made with whale testicle that’s been smoked in sheep droppings.

Bottoms up–if you dare.
