[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]You might be afraid to talk to your boss, but there are a few things you shouldn’t bite your tongue about.

If a robot hasn’t replaced you, then you have basic needs only your boss can fulfill. But in some cases, a boss can be intimidating to talk to. According to Forbes magazine, the people who climb the corporate ladder fastest are those who advocate for themselves. So besides asking for a raise, what are the topics you shouldn’t be afraid to take on?

One example on the list, a flexible schedule. Life doesn’t always fall into the hours of nine to five, sometimes you need to start late or leave early, don’t be afraid to make your case. Lay out to your boss why you need to leave and make a plan for staying on top of whatever work you might be missing.

Another example, your plan to use your paid time off. Everyone deserves a break and you will perform better when you’re well rested. For more conversations to take on, check out the original article now. Silence isn’t always golden.
