4 Biggest Job Search Mistakes: Your Cover Letter And Beyond

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]Can’t land a job offer? There might be a reason for that.

The job market is strong, unemployment is low and you have a stack of references. So why don’t you have a job? According to MSN Money there are four common mistakes people make during the job search that could prevent them from landing a deal.

For example, using a generic cover letter. Not every job application requires a cover letter but if there’s an option, then do it. But tailor it to the job and address the specific qualifications listed in the job description you’re applying for. Include things that aren’t covered in your resume and let your personality show, make them want to know you better.

Another mistake; applying for too many jobs. Hiring managers can tell when you’re clicking “apply” on every job you come across. Instead apply for the jobs you’re a good fit for, not every job with an opening.

To see the final two mistakes people make during the job search, read the full article now. Then you can concentrate on getting hired.
