[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]Want to start a business but lack the funds? Not to worry.

The idea of working for yourself is appealing. You make your own hours and decisions, with no boss getting in your way. But getting to that point can be a long road and in some cases people think they simply do not have the money to get there.

According to the job site Ladders.com, there are a handful of businesses you can start for less than a few months rent, depending on where you live.

For example if you have an area of expertise you already love, think about offering your skills as a consultant. All you need to get off the ground is a website, a marketing plan and a network.

If you’re very detailed and organized, consider being a virtual assistant. Many businesses turn to V.A.’s to deal with smaller tasks they don’t want to waste time on and all you really need is a computer.
