Amazon’s New Headquarters: These Cities On The Shortlist

by | Nov 13, 2018

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]Amazon is close to announcing a location for its new headquarters, and it looks like two cities will be getting a piece of the pie.

Last year Amazon launched a contest for cities across the country to ask them why they would make the best spot for Amazon’s new headquarters.

Since then, amazon has narrowed down the list and teased a winner. Now they’ve thrown a wrench in the whole thing by announcing its headquarters will actually be split between two separate cities.

According to the Wall Street Journal, each city location would employ twenty five thousand people. The Journal also reports the decision to split has to do with recruiting enough talent and addressing issues expected to rise about housing and transit.

But despite this latest development the company is still keeping tight lipped about location. However, The Wall Street Journal is predicting Crystal City, Virginia; Dallas, Texas and New York City are among the finalists.

Whichever two cities land the bid… officials are ready to welcome the company, its job openings and economic boost to their area with open arms.
