Like to kick things off with a cup of coffee in the morning? That extra jolt might actually slow you down. Or do you tackle your inbox as soon as you get to the office? Jumping right in might leave you overwhelmed come lunchtime.

Avoid sitting in your chair when you first get to work. Multiple studies show that standing helps you gain more control and power over your situation, so go for a short walk or take advantage of a standing desk.
