Scandalous

While your employer may frown upon you looking at pictures of scantily clad supermodels, in Australia it will bring you a fan page worth of supporters.

An online campaign has saved the job of Australian banker David Kiely after he was caught on live television looking at pictures of Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr. Kiely had opened an email containing the model’s pictures unaware that a colleague was standing behind him doing a live interview about the Australian economy. So the financial website “Here is the City News” set up a “Save Dave” web page that encouraged readers to email the banks public relations department to save Dave’s job. The page listed four reasons why Dave should stay employed; he seems like a nice bloke, the photos weren’t hardcore, he has suffered enough and there’s just too much political correctness in the world anyway. Local media is also reporting that Kiely may have been set up and that the end of the email read “turn around now.” Following the public hoopla Kiely met with the bank’s executives who agreed with his fans and he was allowed to keep his job. Nothing like a big PR campaign to help you stay employed.
