Volunteering for Travel

by | Nov 21, 2017

Volunteering for TravelGiving back is about to pay off for about two dozen people around the country and they don’t even know about it yet.

Recently Jet Blue held its annual “Jet Blue for Good Month” competition. People who have recently spent time volunteering were able to enter the contest at pop-up kiosks in New York or LA by filling out a survey about why they do community service. Now in just a couple of days Jet Blue will notify 22 of them that they have been selected for the grand prize; a trip to Texas, Jamaica or the Bahamas.

Once there the winners will help create libraries in low literacy areas, rebuild a community center or nurse the local wildlife back to health. The company will cover all transportation, accommodations and meal costs.

The company says Jet Blue for Good Month was created to celebrate all the way its employees give back year round and it wanted to encourage customers to do the same. You’re encouraged to give back out of the goodness of your heart but the idea of a free trip doesn’t hurt either.
