Listen Now: Twitter May Be Killing This Feature After Pressure From Congress

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]It looks like Twitter might be disliking its “Like” button.

According to reports Twitter CEO and co-founder, Jack Dorsey, is looking at saying goodbye to its heart shaped like button. This is what people click when they want you to know they like your tweet, unfortunately it could be fueling a controversial fire.

Recently Dorsey appeared before congress to answer questions about manipulation of the site, and whether some features were being used to bolster opinions that could be interpreted as hate speech. One of those features is the “Like” button which dorsey himself has often addressed.

He says the button encourages people to say outrageous things to get their number of likes up. The ability to retweet is another feature criticized for the same reason.

Now Dorsey says the company is asking itself what features do we offer that incentivize healthy conversation? To answer that question dorsey says the company is rethinking everything about the service.

He says the work is in the early stages and not ready to be shared, but they’re hoping users like it enough to keep tweeting.
