The Bare Minimum

by | May 18, 2018

The Bare MinimumFlying is becoming less comfortable, and you are part of the reason.

Over the past few years we have seen airlines charge for checked bags and seat selection. We have watched them do away with free services such as in-flight snacks and cram in an extra row of seats. And while we complain about it, we are also letting airlines know we will tolerate all of it every time we purchase the cheapest ticket we can find.

In a poll by MSN 51% of 209,000 americans polled said price was their top priority when buying a ticket. Even if that means flying with an airline that will charge for anything extra and you’re crammed into the middle seat with perfect strangers on both sides.

Yet airlines are constantly rewarded for having the lowest prices but not for comfort and convenience. So until you’re ready to shell out for some extra leg room… keep the complaints to yourself. Airplanes are full, carriers are making money, and attempts by some members of congress to mandate more leg room have failed.
