Come across some extra cash? Think before you spend.
These days one thousand dollars doesn’t sound like a lot of money, but there are still ways it can help improve your financial standing. For example, build up your emergency fund. In a recent survey by bankrate 36% of Americans said they would need to borrow money for an emergency that costs one thousand dollars.
Setting anything extra aside could help you avoid that. Or instead of saving, how about getting ahead of your bills? You could use the extra grand to prepay your insurance. This regular fee can be one of the more expensive ones so why not get it off your plate. In some cases insurance companies offer discounts to customers who prepay for six months to a year.
One thousand dollars is also enough to start an online business if you have a service or special talent to share. And if you need a little more it would be a great addition to your kickstarter campaign.
So maybe start setting aside those spare coins, every little bit helps.
