New Tenants

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]The paint is barely dry on the “Store Closed” signs and already new tenants are moving into the recently vacated Toys ‘R’ Us stores.

They say when one door closes another one opens and that looks to be the case for the now vacated Toys ‘R’ Us locations. The chain closed the last batch of its U.S. stores just over a week ago, and already we know who is eying the empty real estate.

According to the Wall Street Journal some big name retailers ready to move in include Hobby Lobby, Burlington, TJ Maxx and Marshalls. A few others with their hats in the ring include Big Lots and Scandinavian Designs.

And it’s not just the empty lots that are getting a new lease on life. The Wall Street Journal also reports that in April more than three thousand new store openings were reported from trendy retailers such as Sprouts, Planet Fitness and Dollar Tree.

Experts say this might mean that the days of brick and mortar stores are not as numbered as we might think. People just need a good reason to visit.
