Listen Now: You Won’t Believe This New Condiment From Heinz
Heinz is set to release a new condiment and critics say it’s spreading a little too thin,
Later this month, mayochup, the new product by Heinz will hit store shelves. The new sauce is a mix of ketchup and mayonnaise in one bottle, for those too lazy to mix the two together themselves.
In a press release Heinz cited the “unprecedented passion” around the product as crucial to its launch of the condiment supergroup. Mayochup will be added to the Heinz lineup which already includes ketchup, mustard, bbq sauce and more recently mayonnaise.
And while Heinz thinks it has stumbled upon the next big thing, people on social media say not so fast. They say this combination of ketchup and mayo has been popular across latin america for years with most people simply referring to it as fry sauce.
Others say this big discovery is really thousand island dressing without the pickles, a sauce that is no stranger to being spread on burgers and sandwiches.
New or not, Heinz is moving forward with the idea so save a little room in the fridge.
