Listen Now: Marijuana-Infused Beer
The inventor of Blue Moon is brewing up a beer guaranteed to give you a whole new type of buzz.
Keith Villa is developer of Blue Moon Belgian wheat beer. He says the company is launching three marijuana infused drinks that promise intoxication without the hangover. The drinks, served chilled, will at first only be available in Colorado where recreational marijuana is legal.
They will be infused with special marijuana formulas designed to mimic the effects of booze. Developers say the drink will affect the user at the same time as if they were just drinking beer. Developers say drinking this beer might be safer for people because marijuana infused food can take at least an hour to kick in making it difficult for people to self-medicate.
Blue moon’s marijuana infused beer is the only one that includes the compound THC. In comparison, other cannabis beer is only infused with hemp extract. Villa says the company hopes to have the beer on store shelves by Fall, then expand to other states that allow recreational marijuana.
Just make sure you grab the right bottle.
