For personal issues or fallout from the economy many people are shying away from the title of home owner. At a recent real estate convention, I spoke with Sherry Chris, Head of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, about the problem.

“Right now across the country I have a national scope. There’s a shortage of listings in many communities, which is continuing to drive prices up. One of the things that we’re hoping for is that the ever-elusive millennials will step up and start buying at a faster pace than they have been.”

Msn Money also looked at reasons behind the lack of buyers. It found that millennials as a group are opting for a different lifestyle. Having a family is on the back burner and no kids means less of a need for a home, backyard and garage.
