Disney Movie Magic

by | May 24, 2018

Disney Movie MagicDisney is one of the most profitable movie studios in the world; but its actors are some of the most underpaid.

Recently, variety listed the salaries of the biggests movie stars. Topping the list was Daniel Craig for James Bond, followed by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Vin Diesel.

Notably missing from the list was any actor starring in an upcoming project by Disney. And here’s the reason. Right now Disney is the studio behind some of the biggest money making franchises of all time; Marvel and Star Wars. And because the studio has material that can make a billion dollars in one week, it doesn’t need to pay actors a hefty chunk of change.

But that doesn’t mean actors can’t earn a hefty salary while under contract with Disney. The thing about these franchises is that you are almost guaranteed a role in multiple movies, and that will start to add up.

Plus, being a part of these movies that are raking in big box office bucks mean they can ask more from other studios and Disney can save a couple million.
