Delancey Street Foundation

[xyz-ips snippet=”post-thumb-url”]Home can be many things, but for some it’s a literal life saver.

At a recent real estate conference I met a man who was telling the audience about a different kind of home. One that takes people who’ve been in prison, are battling addiction or living on the street and helps them start over. It’s called the Delancey Street Foundation and for forty years they have been changing the lives of people who need a helping hand.

John Reyna is one of those people, and currently a resident at the San Francisco location.

I did land on my feet and I’m happy to get out there and be a helpful person out in the community, I actually help a lot of other people that come into Delancey Street and are fairly new and are kinda struggling with the same things that I came in with, living the street life, bad conditions, prison for most of their life and kinda show them the way, being a decent person, having some integrity and what not.

Home really is where the heart is.
