Bezos and The DreamersThe richest man in the world is investing a large chunk of change in higher education.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and his wife have announced a $33 million grant to the country’s largest scholarship program for dreamers; a group of undocumented immigrants brought to this country as children. This money will give one thousand immigrant graduates of US high schools with DACA status the opportunity to go to college.
DACA, or the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, is a program from Former President Obama that protects those brought to the US illegally as minors. In his statement about the donation, Bezos says the cause is important to him and his wife because his adopted father was an immigrant who fled Cuba.

Bezos says his dad came to America when he was sixteen and with the help of some organizations in Delaware became a citizen and continues to give back to the country he feels saved his life. His son went on to found the biggest online retailer in the world, and he is now one of the world’s richest men.
