Esra Ozturk founded Arzo. A company she started after a change of plans prevented her from being in the middle of a 2016 terrorist bombing in Istanbul that killed forty people.
“It made me feel incredibly numb, it made me realize what matters, what doesn’t so I began to write down every part of my life and highlight everything that made me feel warm.”
She employed Turkish women to help them sell products they used to sell to tourists.
“I was there and I saw the tourism industry collapse in front of my own eyes a lot of flights were being refunded and I went out into the streets and talked to the women who told me that many of them had a lot of children, were widows and I felt like I was in between these two countries, turkey and the united states. I knew a lot of my friends would buy their products so I felt like it was my obligation to help them out.”
Esra has turned those life lessons into the book, “Push to Purpose.”
