Registering For Divorce
It's not uncommon to register for everything you need to start a life together. But a new business venture will allow you to register for your life apart.
British department store Debenhams has created a gift list for anyone going through a divorce. According to the Office for National Statistics 45% of British marriages will end in divorce and Debenhams will make sure you're ready if I do becomes I don't.
Peter Moore is head of retail services for the store and says divorce means that one person is leaving the marital home and all their essential items remain behind. Moore says registering for a divorce gift list allows family and friends to help you start over. Items on the list include cookware, cutlery, bed linen, plasma TV's and towels. Debenhams says it launched the divorce list after an increasing interest in divorce themed greeting cards, parties and cakes.
Last month I reported on the British law firm Lloyd Platt and Company that was offering vouchers to anyone needing divorce advice. It seems in Britain divorce has become its own industry and happily ever after is becoming less prosperous.
